The exquisite bird paintings of James Fenwick Lansdowne are reproduced in this oversized folio reprint edition (10 in. wide x 13-1/4 in. tall). This work preceded the artist's Birds of the Eastern Forest: 1 and Birds of the Eastern Forest: 2 and contains 56 full color plates along with pencil sketches of North American birds. Mr. Lansdowne (1937-2008) was a Canadian wildlife artist whose work is described on the jacket flap as being "Scientifically accurate, they are also works of art." Each full-page painting is accompanied by an authoritative life history of the species depicted by the noted Canadian naturalist John A.
