Stated first edition, copyright page. A biography of Vinnie Ream (1847-1914), who gained fame for her sculpture of Abraham Lincoln. Despite her rather limited experience, she was allowed to model Lincoln's head; her completed sculpture now is located in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol in Washington. --- In full rose paper-covered boards with image of the subject in black on cover (repeated on jacket). Dust jacket bears $3.50 flap price. --- With prior owners' signatures to front free endpaper and a spot of soiling to front cover, else a clean, sound copy. Jacket with a few small tears to edges, light soiling to back cover, otherwise intact and bright.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); 149 pages
