The life and amazing artwork of Winslow Homer (1836-1910) are both detailed here. With numerous color plates, and many b&w reproductions of the artist's work. Volume is in full green cloth-covered boards with gilt titling on cover and spine. In jacket with color reproductions on front and back of Mr. Homer's work. --- Volume is slightly bowed, and cover is creased. Soiling to textblock edges. Interior is clean and lacks markings. Dust jacket with chipping and tears along edges, especially at spine ends. --- Mr. Homer gained notoriety as an illustrator but as he gained fame he evolved toward paintings as works of art.
