With slightly yellowed leaves, bumped corners and prev. owner's inkings, front pastedown. Lettering on spine in gilt has faded but is readable. Interior tight and complete. Twelve months of Our Young Folks Magazine, bound together in one volume. In dark brown quarter leather and paper-covered board covers with decorations and lettering in gilt on spine. Offers a wide variety of fictional stories, poems, games & riddles and non-fiction articles. Includes many attractive b&w photos, engraved illustrations (some in color) and drawings. --- Includes works by noted authors such as Harriet Beecher Stowe ('The Hen That Hatched Ducks' and 'Little Pussy Willow' and several others) and Horatio Alger, Jr. ('How Johnny Bought a Sewing-Machine') and many other authors. Many of these works first appeared in this magazine. --- Front cover and first page have detached from the volume and rear cover has loosened; but interior pages are in good shape, though with some discoloration and an occasional tear. 'Our Young Folks' was acquired and merged into 'St. Nicholas Magazine' in 1874.
