Author's gripping novel of the 1925-27 communist upheaval in China in a Modern Library edition. Translated from the French by Haakon M. Chevalier. Later printing, likely published c.1964 (though the date 1961 appears in the book). Reverse of dust jacket lists titles in Mod. Lib. catalog, but no specific number. In full green cloth covers with blindstamped hexagonal ML logo on cover; lettering & decorations in bright gilt on spine. Covers clean; with some penciled underlinings and creased interior pages.
