First edition. In full aqua cloth-covered boards with titling in black on spine. Includes 53 photos by the author; as well as 26 photos by others. Text includes information on the birds themselves, as well as photography techniques and descriptions of bird observation expeditions by the author. Appendix has detailed characteristics of the species described in the book, along with range maps. Covers with some yellowing, and with foxing at endpapers and textblock edges. Interior pages (on glossy papers) clean and bright; volume is firm. Dust jacket is very chipped and with a few missing chunks, some back cover soiling; now in mylar protector. Curlews, godwits, whimbrels, redshanks, greenshanks, oyster-catchers, and many more are in here. Overall, a useful, attractive work for any UK birder.; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 163 pages
