A 1901 edition in this collection of principal writings by American founding father Benjamin Franklin. Includes selections from his famous Autobiography, plus other writings. With tissue-guarded black and white frontis portrait of the author, as well as a brief introduction by editor Bliss Perry. An entry in the publisher's "Little Masterpieces" series of noted works in compact size. --- In full red cloth-covered boards with titling and decorations in gilt on spine; publisher's blindstamped vignette to front cover. Lacks a dust jacket (likely as issued). --- Spine is darkened and titling is not bright, otherwise an attractive, sound copy.; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; xiii, 178 pages

The American founder's legendary work in special Heritage Press reprint edition. With the pseudonym of Mr. Franklin (Richard Saunders) represented on title page. Includes illustrations in both color and black & white by Norman Rockwell, and with an introduction by Van Wyck Brooks. With translations of foreign aphorisms and end notes at rear of volume. --- A sizeable quarto, about 12 inches tall. In tan buckram covers w/blindstamped signs of the Zodiac pattern on cover; gilt-stamped titling on spine. Sandglass flyer is not present. --- A bright, firm, complete copy but with slight binder's glue bleed-through at front and rear hinges.
