Includes an introductory text on the beginnings and growth of the Gallery by John Walker, director emeritus. --- In maroon cloth-covered boards with blindstamped image of sculpture on cover, repeated in gilt on spine with gilt titling. Jacket features Rogier van der Weyden's superb "Portrait of a Lady", which is featured in the book. Volume lacks the clear, snap-on band. --- A clean, firm, bright copy but with some soiling to front free endpaper and to cloth. A prior owner has taped the verso of the jacket with minimal negative results. Jacket also with some creasing and a scratch to front cover; otherwise a bright and intact.
