A probable first edition of author's history of small mining camps in Colorado. These places were often designated as "cities" though many were little more than encampments. This work was published at the centennial of the first Colorado gold rush, known as the "Rush to the Rockies" in 1859. The text is accompanied by dozens of black & white photos and drawings. Inscribed and signed by the authors thus: "To Dick, Eleanor & Ricky / with our best regards / Don and Jean". Also signed by Fred M. Mazzulla and Jo Mazzulla who have provided the illustrations from their collection. --- In patterned cream paper-covered boards backed in green cloth, with titling in gilt to spine. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- With news clips concerning this work taped to front and rear endpapers, a hint of wear to edges of cloth, prior owner's bookplate affixed to front paste-down and sticker removal damage to rear paste-down, otherwise an unmarked and tightly-bound copy.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); xi, 308 pages; Signed by Author
