Also includes folded 23 in. x 23 in. map showing the trans-Mississippi area of 1807-1843, in a back pocket. A first edition (per Howes C.390). --- Bound in full green cloth-covered boards with titling in gilt to spine. Deckled textblock edges. --- A very nice, tightly-bound copy but with acidic stain to front endpapers and prior owner's inked signature to front free endpaper.
