The third anthology of 13 of Arthur Conan Doyle's short stories featuring his famous Sherlock Holmes character and narrated by Holmes associate, Dr. Watson. The stories first appeared in the Strand magazine in 1903-04, following Conan Doyle's unsuccessful attempt to bring the series to a halt with his story "The Final Problem" (1893). Also includes two very short appended works by Doyle. This edition is edited and with a lengthy introduction by Richard Lancelyn Green, who has supplied 81 pages of explanatory notes in the appendix.
