A deluxe Heritage Press reprint edition offering a version of the Bhagavad Gita, a section of the longer Mahabharata, an epic poem and essential Hindu scripture. The text is presented in Sanskit, and alongside in English on rectos of leaves. The translation into English was prepared by Sir Edwin Arnold. Includes color plates with illustrations by Y. G. Srimati and an introduction by Shri Sri Prakasa. Sandglass flyer not present. --- In yellow cloth-covered boards with decorations in red and green, titling in gilt on red spine block and red topstain. Only English-language pages (rectos) are numbered. Volume housed in red paper-covered slipcase with decorations in yellow to front and rear panels. --- With prior owner's bookplate affixed to front paste-down, penciling to one page in introduction, and with light sunning to spine, otherwise volume is in excellent shape: clean, unmarked and bright.
