A stated first printing, October 1960 of this catalog of the representations of birds and other creatures in porcelain which were created by Edward Marshall Boehm. A signed copy, number 48 of 300 copies in this limited collector's edition. Illustrated with 17 full-color plates and 85 black & white images, showing some of the finished products, as well as some techniques and work rooms where the porcelain was crafted. With an appreciation by art critic John D. Morse, and a foreword by Monsignor John J. Dougherty. --- In off white and navy cloth-covered boards with bird image and author facsimile signature to cover, spine titling in copper and blue. Volume housed in slipcase with illustrated panels pasted to front and back. --- An excellent copy: clean, unmarked and bright though with shallow creases to some leaves at rear of volume. Slipcase also nice but with minor rubbing; remains structurally sound.; Small Quarto - 9 to 11 in. tall; 208 pages
