The tales describe journeys through Turkey, "Tartary", Persia, Egypt, India and the Holy Land; first appearing in 1568. Also includes the Journall of Frier Odoricus. With an introduction by Jules Bramont. An entry in Everyman's Library "Travel" series, edited by Ernest Rhys. E.L. no. 821. --- In binding style 1 with curved back, full dark green cloth-covered boards with elaborate Reginald Knowles-designed gilt spine titling & decorations, blindstamped J. M. Dent vignette to front cover, dark topstain and fancy Knowles woodcut art at title page, endpapers & frontis. No publication date appears in book, but likely published c.1928. Lacks the dust jacket. --- A very well-preserved copy, retaining much of the volume's original crispness, but with the embossed seal of prior owner Dr. Mark W.
