In these stories, Harris used the device of having his Uncle Remus character and various animal friends share folklore from the pre-war South. With illustrations by A. B. Frost. Includes a black & white portrait of Harris by Stan Hunter near front of volume. Issued as an entry in the publisher's Collected Stories of the World's Greatest Writers series.
