A Modern Library reprint edition of Oscar Wilde's letter from Reading Prison. While enjoying fame and popularity, the Irish-born poet and playwright lived quite happily and with joy. Edited, a prefatory dedication by Wilde friend Robert Ross, and an introductory essay by Frank Harris. --- In Toledano spine #4 / brown leatherette ("Croftleather") limp boards / gilt titling and decorations on spine / gilt torchbearer to front panel / yellow Bernhard endpapers. Lacks the dust jacket. Likely published c.1926-29 (though 1926 date appears in book). ML #117.1. --- With mild soiling and chafing to covers, slight age-toning to leaves, otherwise a well-preserved, unmarked, tightly-bound copy.; 16mo - 6 to 7 in. tall; (28), 154 pages
